Everything You Need To Know About HD and Transparent Lace

When picking your lace type, it's important to know the difference between them all so you can make the best decision based on what you prefer/need.

What is HD Lace?

HD Lace, which stands for "High Definition" is the newest and highest quality lace currently on the market. The material is the thinnest thus far, offering a softer, lighter, more invisible lace. Because of the softer, lighter material, the lace is not as itchy or irritating.

What is Transparent Lace?

Transparent Lace is regular swiss lace that comes in a transparent color. Regular lace comes in four different colors. Dark brown, medium brown, light brown and transparent. It's important you pick the lace color that matches your skin tone the best. I personally think transparent is the best out of the four because it can be tinted to any color, while darker laces cannot be lifted to match a lighter skin tone.

What is the Difference Between HD and Transparent Lace?

Price. HD lace costs more than transparent lace because it is made from a higher quality lace.

Lifespan. Transparent lace tends to last longer than HD lace because the lace is thicker and not so thin and delicate as HD lace. With HD lace, you need to be more gentle because the lace is fragile.

Install. HD lace will give you a more realistic "scalp" look vs. transparent lace, because of how thin it is. It's undetectable and less visible. But don't get me wrong, you can also get a realistic look with transparent lace as well, it just wont be the same because the lace is a tad bit thicker. In the photo below the transparent lace is on top and the HD lace is at the bottom. As you can see, the HD lace is nearly invisible and the transparent lace at the top is more visible

Both laces are great options. It really just depends on your budget and preference. My favorite celebrity hair stylist Arrogant Tae stated in his masterclass that HD and transparent lace are the only kinds of lace he uses.
